i test Icaru @ dragon with +2351/2353/+2355/+2374 (Double team up) and +2388 def (tripple teamup) from runes and artifacts. totaldeff=736+2374+0,25*736 the range is between 3294 / 3308 Totaldeff! No you don't need end game runes for a decent team. End game runes are only for a super fast team. Tricaru scales well with rune quality and it starts working on mediocre runes. The most important runes early on are verde's runes, the Icaru don't matter much outside of minimums and some accuracy.

If you can, keep def% 5* runes. If you go 9x determination there is room for multiple 5* runes per unit. I'm down to 4 sets and still use a 5* slot 4 rune on one of my dogs

Unless you have Determination runes with 63% DEF main stat, it only makes sense (to me) to put ONE set (2 runes) on odd slots of each Icaru. A total of 3 sets. Highest def is from 63% DEF main stat on all three of slots 2,4,6. Tricaru is definitely core to speed dungeon teams and arguably the only viable DB12 team. My advice would be to build ONE Icaru 6*ed and 2Aed. Try to rune him up (using RTA rune management is convenient) and hit the def mark. Used Fran (L),loren,specta and inugami. You can do level5 even if inugami has no runes,just slower. Just need some decent runes on your mons. My specta is on spd/cdmg/hp.
